Collection, processing and usage of personal data

The legal framework for data protection may be found in the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG). The provisions below serve to provide information as to the manner, extent and purpose for collecting, using and processing personal information by the provider.

Information is considered personal if it can be associated exclusively to a specific natural person. These include especially names, addresses, phone-numbers or e-mail addresses, as well as information about preferences, memberships or previously visited websites.

We collect and use your personal data to process your orders, including delivery and payment, as well as to provide other services you may want to use.

Contact

In case of your getting in contact with us (e.g. via e-mail), your transferred data will be stored for the purpose of handing your enquiry as well as possible handling of follow-up questions.

Account

To be able to order from our online store, you may register an account. Data specified for that purpose will be used exclusively for the purpose of using our services, to execute your orders and for the handling of payments. The specific items of data collected derives from the form used to register or buy from our online store. These include names, company, addresses, VAT identification number and e-mail address.

Transfer to third parties

We transfer your personal to third parties if it is necessary for handling your orders or payments. Transfer of personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes will not happen without your express agreement.

Credit card payments are processed through the payment provider Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Block 4, Harcourt Centre, Harcourt Road, Dublin2, Ireland, to which we transfer the specified information, next to information about your order (name, e-mail address, addres, credit card numer, invoice amount, currency and transaction number) given during the order transaction. The transfer of data occurs exclusively for the purpose of the payment handling with the payment provider Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. PayPal payments are processed through PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. & Cie. S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, 2449 Luxembourg. If you choose PayPal as a payment method, your data required for the payment process will be automatically forwarded to PayPal. This regularly involved the following data: Last name, first name, e-mail address, IP address. The data transmitted to PayPal may be transmitted by PayPal to credit reporting agencies. This transmission aims at the identity and credit check. PayPal may also transfer your information on to third parties as far as it is necessary to fulfil the contractual obligations or if the data is to be processed by third parties. For invoicing purposes we transfer name, e-mail address, invoice address, invoice amount and payment type (without credit card number) to the provider Quaderno der Recrea Systems, S.L.U., Fernando Guanarteme 111, 35010 Las Palmas, Spain. Using this data, the provider creates a PDF VAT invoice in our name. Other usage or analysis of your data is not done by Quaderno. We have a binding agreement with Quaderno according to § 11 BDSG, under the terms of which Quaderno undertakes to comply with confidential handling and secure storage of your data. Newsletter

Our newsletter allows you to periodically receive news about us and Printmaps.net.

If you sign up to receive our newsletter, you need a valid e-mail address. After entering your e-mail address and confirming the confirmation text, you will receive an automated e-mail in which you must confirm your agreement by clicking a confirmation-link (double opt-in). As proof of your agreement, we store your e-mail address, the agreement text, the confirmation e-mail as well as the respective IP-addresses, time of day and date during sign-up and confirmation.

We use MailChimp to send our newsletter to our subscribers. MailChimp is a service provided by The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 512 Means Street, Suite 404, Atlanta, GA 30318, USA.

The data stored when you registered for the newsletter (email address, name, IP address, and time and date of registration) will be sent to a server operated by The Rocket Science Group in the United States and stored there in accordance with the EU-US Privacy Shield.

Furthermore, we have entered into a data processing agreement with Mailchimp, in which Mailchimp undertakes to keep the data of our newsletter subscribers secure, to process them according to their data privacy terms and to not transfer it to third parties.

Our Newsletter contains a so-called “web-beacon”. This is a small file, which, when opening our newsletter, is opened by the Mailchimp servers. By doing this, technical infoemation (e.g. about your browser and the time of opening the newsletter), as well as your IP-address are retrieved and stored. This data is used by Mailchimp to create statistics and analyze its own service. Furthermore, Mailchimp can analyze reading habits of newsletter subscribers. This data can then be used to tailor the service as much as possible to the subscribers.

Your consent to storing this data as well as the use of your e-mail addresses to send newsletters can be revoked anytime. Revocation is possible via a link in the newsletter or via a message to us directly via e-mail. Therewith both your consent to receive the newsletter via Mailchimp as well as the statistical analysis by Mailchimp will be revoked. A separate revocation to either receive newsletters and the statistical analysis is unfortunately not possible.

Reviews

We may contact you via email to invite you to review any services or products you received from us in order to collect your feedback and improve Printmaps.net. We use an external company, Trustpilot A/S (“Trustpilot”), to collect your feedback which means that we will share your name and email address with Trustpilot for this purpose. Server-Log-Files

Whenever our website is accessed by a user, information is logged in a file by our hosting provided. These logfiles contain information about accessed files, status-codes, time-stamps and systems information. This data is not personalised and does not provide any information about a specific person. Furthermore, IP-address are stored in these logfiles in an anonymised way and will only be used for statistical purposes.

Cookies

Our website makes use of so-called cookies in order to recognize repeat use of our website by the same user/internet connection subscriber. Cookies are small text files that your internet browser downloads and stores on your computer. They are used to improve our website and services. In most cases these are so-called “session cookies” that are deleted once you leave our website.

To an extent, however, these cookies also pass along information used to automatically recognize you. Recognition occurs through an IP address saved to the cookies. The information thereby obtained is used to improve our services and to expedite your access to the website.

You can prevent cookies from being installed by adjusting the settings on your browser software accordingly. More information on how to block cookies can be found at http://www.allaboutCookies.org. Web analytics with Google (Universal) Analytics

Our website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analytics service by Google Inc. (www.google.de). Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods, which allow for an analysis of website usage, e.g. so-called “cookies”, text-files, which are stored on your computer. The generated information about your usage of this website is usually sent to a server by Google in the USA and will be stored there. We use Google Analytics with an IP anonymization feature on our website. In doing so, Google truncates and thereby anonymizes your IP address before transferring it from member states of the European Union or signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in special cases will the IP-address be transferred to the Google servers in the USA and truncated then.

Conversion tracking with Google AdWords

We use “Google AdWords”, the online adprogram by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google). By using Google Adwords we are also using the so-called conversion tracking, the accompanying analytics service. Whenever you click on a Google AdWord, a cookie for conversion-tracking will be stored on your device. These cookies are invalidated after 30 days, don’t contain any personal data and therefore cannot be used for personal identification.

If you visit certain pages of our website while the cookie is still valid, Google und we see that you clicked on an ad and were sent to our website. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Therefore there is no way for cookies to be tracked anywhere else than on this website.

The information that is collected via the conversion cookie serves the purpose of creating conversion statistics for AdWords customers like us. We receive information about the total number of users, which have clicked on our advertisements and were then sent to a page that includes a conversion tracking tag. We do not receive any information which would let us identify any specific persons.

If you do not want to be part of the conversion tracking, you can revoke the usage by blocking the setting of the cookies through the respective settings in your browser software (see “Cookies” above).
